Measles have been making a comeback lately in some major cities in the United States, including some in Texas such as Houston and Dallas. Health officials are suggesting vaccinations for adults who area at risk such as those born before 1957, pregnant women, and those with compromised immune systems, as well as children who have not previously been vaccinated. It's easy for measles to spread as the disease is contagious for up to 4 days after becoming infected, without the onset of symptoms. Those in the Houston area can locate health centers that provide vaccinations at low cost through the official city government site, or other resources for local Houston doctors and clinics. Most family or general practice physicians can provide measles and other vaccinations.
